## Naming

The car is referred to in the wild as "Ferrari 355", "Ferrari F355", "F355" and "355". All four names refer to the same model. 355 Live indexes for all of these spellings.

## What the Ferrari 355 is

The Ferrari 355 (Ferrari F355) is a mid-engined V8 sports car produced by Ferrari S.p.A. between 1994 and 1999, succeeding the 348 and preceded by the 360 Modena. It uses a 3.5-litre, 5-valve-per-cylinder, 90-degree V8 rated at roughly 375 hp.

Body styles (variants):
- Berlinetta — fixed-roof coupé (introduced 1994)
- GTS — targa-top with removable roof panel (introduced 1995)
- Spider — full convertible (introduced 1995)
- Challenge — factory-prepared track car based on the Berlinetta (1995–1999, ~108 cars)
- Fiorano — limited handling-package Spider option (1999, US-market)

Transmissions:
- Manual — gated open-gate 6-speed (the collector-favoured spec)
- F1 — first road-going Ferrari with paddle-shift electrohydraulic gearbox (introduced mid-1997)

Engine management ("Motronic"):
- 2.7 Motronic — Bosch Motronic M2.7 ECU, fitted to early cars (1994 to mid-1996)
- 5.2 Motronic — Bosch Motronic M5.2 ECU, fitted from mid-1996 onwards (note: some sources call this "3.5 Motronic"; we use 5.2 throughout)

- Prices are normalised to USD using daily FX rates for cross-market comparison; the original currency is preserved on each listing.
- Listings are deduplicated by source+listing-id and re-checked weekly; cars not seen for several scrapes are marked sold.
- "% of total supply for sale" on the supply tape uses the live count divided by the approximate factory production volume above.
